Thank you for coming to Open House! I know many of you were busy with sports, but it was nice to see those of you who could make it. We had a great turnout!
Reminders:
- Please sign and return your child's progress report if you haven't done so already. Also, if you haven't sent graded papers back please send them tomorrow. Report Cards will come home on October 14th.
- Picture money for fall pictures is due next Friday, September 25th.
- Make-up day for school pictures is Tuesday, September 29th.
- Scholastic books are in. I will give them to the students tomorrow.
What We Are Learning this Week:
- Math- We are working with 100; using coins that equal $1.00; finding different combinations of 100s, 10s, and 1s for a number; playing the game Close to 100 and Make a Dollar
- Reading- We are practicing the strategy of visualizing
- Writing - We are writing our first stories and conferring about mechanics; letter writing
- Science - We continue to observe our plants, measuring, and graphing their growth. We are learning about the importance of bees to plants.
- Cursive writing- lowercase letters: i, t, u, v, w and review
